Untitled Light Intersection, 2019

‘UNTITLED LIGHT INTERSECTION’ is a light installation by artist Ian Strange. The work was commissioned by the Lyon Foundation for the museum’s inaugural exhibition ‘ENTER’. ‘UNTITLED LIGHT INTERSECTION’ creates lines of light that break-through the old and new museum buildings, puncturing the walls of the external structure and the internal gallery.

“The work places abstracted perspective lines back into the landscape, functioning as both an interior gallery work and an exterior architectural intervention. Strange is interested in the effect of the hand-drawn line on the landscape. In particular, perspective lines and their relationship to art and architecture as a way of both understanding, interpreting and affecting landscape.” – Lyon Housemuseum

The work was on display from March 16th until August 2019 for ‘ENTER’ at the Lyon Housemuseum Galleries, alongside new works by artists: Brook Andrew, Ry David Bradley, FFIXXED Studios x James Deutsher, Shaun Gladwell, Nova Milne, Kate Mitchell, Callum Morton, Dan Moynihan, Baden Pailthorpe, Kenzee Patterson, Patricia Piccinini, Esther Stewart, Kynan Tan, Min Wong, and Constanze Zikos.

‘UNTITLED LIGHT INTERSECTION’ was designed in collaboration with OFFICE and Giffin Design, with the support of curator Fleur Watson and Lyon Housemuseum patrons Yueji and Corbett Lyon.
