Film work
Shot in the suburban streets of Perth, Western Australia, and Mountainside, New Jersey, ISO is a series of ongoing film works created at night using experimentally high ISO settings found in modern digital cinema cameras. Shot at night, the digital sensor’s efforts to make sense of what is not perceivable results in speckles of color, grain, and ghosts of what may or may not be there. The camera interpreting the shadows of unknown spaces, referencing concepts of surveillance, security, fear, and the isolationism often associated with these places.
